A popular way to do this is by having a side-swept Quiff with a part on one side.įor the best results, opt for a more natural finish. As for the styling, apply your favorite product throughout the hair and style the fringe into a Quiff.Instead, slightly trim down the hair and let it fall naturally. Well, if you'd like a more modern feel to it, then start by fading or tapering the sides. Moreover, it is great for men looking for that vintage appeal. Short Quiff Haircut must say:Īs a clean, low-maintenance variation of the Quiff, this haircut is an excellent choice for anyone with short hair (under 2.5”). That almost sounds like a Pompadour, right? The Quiff haircut features short sides and back with longer, styled hair on top. I know that's a lot to take in so, here's the basic idea: You can have them tight, with a fade or taper, or even an undercut. As for the sides, you can style them any way you want. When describing a classic quiff to your barber, you can say to need at least four inches of hair length for the fringe. But the difference in hair length between the top and the sides is not as sharp as in modern cutting techniques such as undercut or fade. In essence, the classic quiff is one of the long top, short sides, and back hairstyles. Although it is the most primitive version of the hairstyle, today, it is still the most preferred classical quiff variations. It reflects serious and charismatic energy. However, in a pompadour, volume, and hair length often is related to all the hair, while the quiff predominantly focuses on the forelock (fringe).īesides, the pompadour features a greasy slick finish. Usually, both styles stand out with volume. But we have some clues to distinguish between the two hairstyles. Quiff vs Pompadour: What Is The Difference?įirst of all, there isn’t a certain and clear difference between quiff and pompadour. For this reason, you must have a fringe which is sufficient length for this style. When it comes to the quiff, a piece of hair on the front of the head is brushed upward and backward from the forehead. It was started to be used as a reaction against monotone and boring short hairstyles of the period after the war. It was created by the combination of pompadour, flattop, and mohawk hairstyles. You can cut the sides too short as well as taper them gradually.Ī quiff is actually a mixed hairstyle.
